Cozumel has a lot to offer whether you are staying on the island for one day or several days! This guide includes seven itineraries consisting of the FAVORITE island activities. Mix and match the options to make a multiple day Cozumel vacation the best possible! These itineraries are in NO specific order….all ensure a fun-filled day!

Cozumel My Cozumel vacation planning taxi transportation

For most of the itineraries there is no need to rent a car! You can easily get a taxi from your hotel or rental house and from the cruise ship & passenger ferry piers. OR you can book a taxi driver for the day…here are two options. OR you can arrange a taxi by sending a private message on their Taxi’s Cozumel Facebook Page or calling one of their telephone numbers: 872-0236, 872-0041, 872-5770.

Day 1 – Relaxing Beach Day

Itinerary OPTION 1 – Relaxing beach day
BreakfastLa Candela (Mexican food) – located on the corner of Av 5 & Calle 6 (2 blocks north of the Benito Juarez Plaza)
TIP: Try the local favorite Chilaquiles! See #10 on this LIST
MorningBuccanos Bar & Grill (aka Club Cozumel Caribe) This is a beach club where you can spend the entire day and never get bored. Swim, snorkel, drink, lounge in the sun or read a book under one of the many palapas.
TIP: Get there early as the prime spots fill up fast when there are cruise ships in port! You will be charged a small entrance fee per person ($140 pesos/$12 usd)…but keep your tickets as they will deduct it from your bill!
LunchEat at Buccanos Bar & Grill! They have a fabulous menu….you won’t be disappointed by anything on their menu
AfternoonContinue your stay at Club Cozumel Caribe. Be sure to try the snorkeling….it is an easy drift snorkel. You will find the facilities very nice and CLEAN!
DinnerPanchos Backyard (Mexican food) – located on the corner of Melgar & Calle 8 (3 blocks north of the Benito Juarez Plaza)
TIP: Try the cilantro soup. Seriously. So yummy!
EveningAfter dinner take a walk on the water front and stroll around the Benito Juarez plaza. You will find shops open and live music EVERY NIGHT at Woody's Bar & Grill (northeast corner of the plaza).
TIP: The water & light show in the center of the plaza starts at 8:30pm!


Day 2 – Explore the Wild Side

Itinerary OPTION 2 – Explore the Wild Side
Option 1: Arrange your taxi driver ahead of time! See two options HEREOption 2: Rent a car and drive your self! Arrange ahead of time via Rentadora ISIS
BreakfastBreakfast Burrito at Burritos Gorditos! 5 Av between Calle 2 & 4 (1 block north of the plaza)
MorningStart your island journey by heading south on the main road (Melgar). Your first stop should be the Liquor Box. Continue around the island stopping at as many places as you like. Swim at San Martin beach.

TIP:Start your island tour by heading south so you don’t end up in the cruise ship traffic congestion in the afternoon!
LunchCoconuts Bar & Grill! East side of the island. The food is good, but the view is even better
AfternoonContinue your drive around the island
DinnerBuccanos at Night, multi-sensory dining experience where flavors clash on purpose. Fresh fish & premium quality ingredients that change with the season.
TIP: make a reservation! They are often booked during high season and take time off during low season

Day 3 – Shopping & El Cielo

Itinerary OPTION 3 – Shopping and El Cielo
BreakfastCasa Mission (Tex-Mex) - 55 Av between Juarez & Calle 1
MorningShopping in town – stroll the main waterfront road and the Benito Juarez plaza and pick up souvenirs and trinkets for those back at home.

LunchGrab a quick lunch at Chalos Antojitos Mexicanos & Sea Food before you board the boat to El Cielo – waterfront road ½ mile south of the lighthouse inside the Hotel Villa Blanca
AfternoonTrip to El Cielo with Blue Angel. Spend the afternoon in the beautiful El Cielo. The trip through Blue Angel includes beverages and light snacks.
TIP: Bring your own koozie or insulated cup
DinnerCaribe Burger – Rosado Salas between Av 5 & 10

Day 4 – Playa Palancar with Snorkel Trip

Itinerary OPTION 4 – Playa Palancar with Snorkeling Trip
BreakfastEl Chino Marinero – Av Benito Juárez between Avenida 20 and 25 or Avenida 20 y Calle 1 Sur
TIP: Try a shrimp torta (torta de cameron con todo)!
MorningTaxi to Playa Palancar (this will be approximately $20)
TIP: sign up for the snorkel trip as soon as you get there. They need a minimum number of people and during high season the trips fill up.
LunchPlaya Palancar!
AfternoonSpend the day at the beach. Walk along the water, relax in a lounge chair or swim in the ocean

DinnerMake it a taco night! El Pique, Chilangos, Los Seras, Los Otates.....so many to choose from!

Day 5 – Salsa & Tequila Day

BreakfastLa Monina – main waterfront road just north of Airport Blvd. A beautiful oceanfront spot!
MorningThe Original Salsa & Salsa! This is a super fun activity for all ages! You won’t be disappointed in this fun experience!

LunchPescaderia San Carlos. Av 50 bis between Rosado Salas & Calle 3. See #2 on this list
TIP: order a Pescado Frito. So yummy. You get to pick out your fish.
AfternoonIf you’re up for it….Tequila tasting at Mi México Lindo Tequila Tour – main waterfront road ½ mile south of the lighthouse.
DinnerLa Choza –Avenida 10 between Calle 3 sur and Calle Adolfo Rosado Salas. This is the real deal….authentic.

DinnerTaco & Pizza night! Head to Los Seras Av 30 between Morelos & Calle 3. You won’t be disappointed! There is a reason why all of the locals are in line for pizza here
