Cozumel Atlantis Submarine Tour

Tour Chankannab Reef to a depth of 100 feet. It is like something out of an old Jules Vernes movie, right? And, yes, the Cozumel Atlantis Submarine tour does share some similarities with the adventure classic, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.

Thankfully, you won’t seeing any submarine-devouring giant, squids. But you will go deep down into the blue — to 100 ft depths in some places. And, at the climax, they take you right over to the edge of a ‘wall’ that drops off to 1,800 ft (!)

If you want to experience the life of a beautiful reef up close and personal but without getting wet or loading on dive tanks, gear and taking lessons, this is a great way to get a first taste of the serene and magical World Down Under.

The craft itself is intriguing, an ingenuous design that we deem worth the price of admission alone. It was developed by the current president of the company, Dennis Hurd, who came up with the idea during his tenure as a design engineer for International Hydrodynamics, a world-leader in deep-sea manned submersibles and the developer of submersibles that could tend North Sea oil rigs to depths of 6,600 feet
